The consortium was present at the colloquium “ In Sack und Tüten!? Aspects of Preventive Conservation II – Packaging of Artistic and Cultural Goods ” organized by the Verband der Restauratoren (VDR) at HTW Berlin, in order to present the project’s progress.

The ambition : to re-evaluate and develop the use of cardboard for the storage and transport of collection items, in order to propose solutions that are more responsible, lighter, and adapted to the constraints of preventive conservation.

This work is based on:

• A large survey of heritage professionals
• An interdisciplinary collaboration between cultural institutions, scientists, transport companies, and cardboard manufacturers
• An experimental approach to evaluate the performance of cardboard in real-world conditions

This AAP (Call for Projects), funded by the Government as part of France 2030 and designed in conjunction with the General Secretariat for Investment and the Ministry of Culture, is operated by the Banque des Territoires (Caisse des Dépôts Group) on behalf of the State.
